The waiting is finally over! After months of rumours and leaks, Google has officially announced two new Nexus phones made by LG and Huawei. The smaller Nexus 5X is made by LG, while the Nexus 6P is made by Huawei. Both smartphones are available in various countries as we speak.
LG Nexus 5X
Let's start with the Nexus 5X. The phone packs a 5.2-inch IPS 1080p display covered by Gorilla Glass 3. The heart of the device is Qualcomm's hexa-core processor, the Snapdragon 808, paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of storage, which is non-expandable.
There is a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and 1.55 micron pixel size, but it lack optical image stabilization. The front camera has a 5 MP sensor with the same aperture, but smaller 1.4 micron pixel size.
Other specs include a 2,700 mAh battery, USB Type-C port, a single front-facing speaker, which is joined by 3 microphones (at the front, top and bottom). The phone is priced at $379.99 for the 16 GB model and pre-orders will start later today.

Huawei Nexus 6P
The larger Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED, more powerful Snapdragon 810 chipset, but the 2.1 version, 3 GB of RAM and a 3,450 mAh battery. All of that is built inside a metal unibody. Unlike LG Nexus 5X, the Huawei Nexus 6P has a model with 128 GB internal storage.
The camera department includes the same 12.3-megapixel sensor, but a larger 1.55 micron pixel size and a wide f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is upgraded to an 8 MP sensor with 1.4 micron pixels and f/2.4 aperture. Other specs are the same, including a USB Type-C, a fingerprint scanner and other standard connectivity options.
As for the prices, the 32 GB model costs $499 and will go on sale later today.
