TMemory module maker Transcend Information has announced revenues of NT$2.82 billion (US$94 million) for November 2010, up 6.6% sequentially. The company saw shipments of its NAND flash-related products increase 20.8% from October, while those of DRAM modules decreased 3.5%.
Transcend said that November shipments of memory cards and other flash products for the year-end period rose substantially to the monthly highest for 2010. However, the company's DRAM-module shipments were dragged down amid continued weakness in consumer demand for PC products.
Transcend noted it does not expect any pickup in prices for DRAM chips for the foreseeable future, and therefore remains cautious toward inventory control. Prices already declined 20% in November due to lackluster demand, the company added.
Transcend revealed that NAND flash accounted for 64.6% of its Novembers revenues, while the proportion of its DRAM-module sales slid to 15.6% from 18.6% in October. The remaining 19.8% came from the company's other products including digital photo frames and portable electronics devices.
Transcend's revenues from January through November totaled NT$28.42 billion, down 7% from the same period of 2009.
