Microsoft's new Lumia smartphones may only be sold by AT&T in the United States. CNET reports people close to Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless have learned none of those carriers intend to sell the Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL. AT&T has already said it will sell the Lumia 950, but it has not brought up plans for the 950 XL.

While no other major US carrier intends to sell the phones, Microsoft says AT&T isn't the exclusive carrier for the Lumia devices. It's possible other carriers could sell them at some point.

Since Microsoft is going to sell the Lumia 950 and 950 XL as unlocked units, they can also be used with T-Mobile.
