Besides announcing new XPS 12 laptop, Dell has also unveiled updated XPS 15 notebook to compete with Apple's MacBook Air. The XPS 15 has just got better, with updated innards, new edge-to-edge display and other improvements, but more importantly it is available for purchase. The base model is available for $999, while 4K models start at $1,599.

Dell claims that the new XPS 15 is the lightest "performance-class" machine of this size. The top model features Intel Core i7 Skylake processor, a 4K display, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M GPU with 2 GB of memory, and either a 1TB hard drive or a 1TB PCIe SSD.
There is an option to choose between the 56 WHr and the larger 84 WHr battery, which is rated up to 17 hours with 1080p display and SSD. Connectivity-wise, Dell added USB Type-C port that also supports Thunderbolt 3. |
