Marvell has accelerated its transition to 28nm process production for its SSD controller chips, while partnering with China-based Longsys Electronics to expand its market presence in China, according to market sources.
Marvell has started rolling out its 28nm controller chips for SSDs in the fourth quarter of 2015, with TSMC being its major foundry partner, said the sources.
Meanwhile, Marvell is reportedly partnering with China's storage device maker Longsys to provide SSDs for government data centers in China, the sources indicated.
Marvell is set to pose a bigger threat to its fellow peers including Phison Electronics and Silicon Motion Technology, which will not have their 28nm solutions ready until 2016, the sources observed. |
