China-based smartphone vendor Meizu Technology has unveiled a new model, the Meilan Metal, the first model it developed jointly with e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, according to China-based Beijing Morning Post.

The Meilan Metal, targeting the CNY1,000 (US$158) segment, is powered by a MediaTek 64-bit Octa-core Helio X10 CPU, running on Alibaba's YunOS.

The model also features a 5.5-inch 1080 FHD display with 2.5D glass panel, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 128GB micro SD card support, 5 mega-pixel front camera and 13 mega-pixel rear camera.

Users of the Meilan Metal can also access to Alibaba's Big Data applications, said the paper.
