The never ending overheating rumours regarding the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset have arrived again. While we won't know the real story until the SoC launches, the latest details reveal that the successor to the Snapdragon 810 didn't fix the overheating issues.
Since Samsung will use the chipset in certain versions of the Galaxy S7, the company is working on a software fix. The company is also in charge of producing the chip, which is using 14nm FinFET process. The pipe will be very similar to what Sony is using in Xperia Z5 series. If that won't be good enough, the Galaxy S7 will have a "radiating pipe" that will help to cool down the chip. |
