After numerous teases and rumours, Samsung has finally officially took off the wraps from the large 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet. The company didn't reveal pricing and availability details, but thanks to a recent online listing from the US store, we know it will be priced at $599.

The Galaxy View features a large 18.4-inch TFT LCD display with 1080p resolution, which results in a pixel density of 123ppi. The pixel density is much lower compared to the 20-inch Panasonic Toughpad 4K tablet, which has 230ppi.

Inside the tablet is Samsung Exynos 7580 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 32 or 64 GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD card slot, a 2.1 MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.1 BLE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and a nano-SIM slot (LTE model only). It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a Media UX skin.

The tablet measures 275.8 x 451.8 x 11.9 mm and weighs 2.65 kg. The main purpose of the tablet is video. Samsung says the software is designed with movies and TVs in mind.
