More and more companies are having hard times to stay profitable and with strong competition, many companies are slowly giving up. One of those is HTC, who is in really tough situation. Others, such as Samsung, are trying to optimise their business by cutting workforce.

Although Samsung denies rumours about huge layoffs in September, a new report suggests the company is going to lay off executives and managerial-level workers in an effort to cut more costs. The expected layoffs will happen in countries where the company has its own factories and manufacturing plants. Some employees have been asked to persuade the employees to self- join the "voluntary retirement system."

The firing will reduce the employees up to 30% and is expected to happen by the end of the year.
