Oppo Find 7 was expected to get a successor in September called Find 9, but that obviously didn't happen. It looks like the company wanted to swap the Snapdragon 810 with the Snapdragon 820, which has resulted in a delay. The new expected release date is early next year.

On the one hand, it is good that Oppo skipped the overheating Snapdragon 810 and waited for the next best thing, but some customers who can't wait could switch to other brand and Oppo could lose potential users.

The rumoured specs for the Oppo Find 9 include Snapdragon 820, 4 GB of RAM, 5.5-inch 2K display, a 21-megapixel rear camera and Android Lollipop. Since the company decided to switch to Snapdragon 820, we could see Qualcomm's Ultrasonic Fingerprint Recognition technology included as it already has a fingerprint scanner.
