Asustek Computer has announced consolidated revenues of NT$38.75 billion (US$1.18 billion) for October, down 6% on month and 10.2% on year, but its revenues in November are expected to grow dramatically as the company has started mass shipping new products.
Asustek shipped about 5.5 million smartphones in the third quarter and the volume is expected to grow to seven million units in the fourth, pumping up the company's annual smartphone shipments to 20 million units, surpassing High Tech Computer (HTC).
Since Asustek had been strictly monitoring its channel inventory levels throughout the third quarter, the company's notebook shipments in the fourth quarter are expected to achieve better growth than the market average, and up 5-10% from the third quarter's 4.8 million units.
With Asustek's 9.3 million notebook shipments in the first half, the vendor is expected to ship 19-19.5 million notebooks in 2015, down 5% from 2014's 20.3 million units.
As for smartphone, Asustek shipped eight million units in the first half, 5.5 million units in the third quarter and is estimated to ship 6.5-7.5 million units in the fourth. |
