Pegatron Technology CEO Jason Cheng expects the fourth quarter to benefit from seasonality and its notebook shipments will grow 20-25% sequentially in the quarter, while its handheld device shipments will grow 25-35% sequentially, boosting its revenues to the NT$400 billion (US$12.24 billion) mark.

Cheng pointed out that clients have increased their orders for the fourth quarter and the increased volume is expected to help raise its annual notebook shipments to 10 million units in 2015.

The smart handheld device business was the main revenue growth contributor of Pegatron in the third quarter and will continue raising the company's revenues in the fourth quarter. The company expects October to be the peak of the fourth quarter, but its November and December revenues will continue to perform strongly.

Pegatron has reported its third-quarter results with gross margins reaching 6.7% and net profits NT$6.01 billion, up 29.2% sequentially, while gross margins for the first three quarters combined reached NT$6.5%, net profits NT$17 billion, up 89.3%, and EPS NT$6.60.

In the third quarter, Pegatron suffered NT$1.46 billion in exchange losses because its inventory value was impacted by depreciation of the Chinese Yuan in August.
