Google already has a range of smartphones, but they are manufactured by companies like Huawei and LG. A report from the Information claims Google is now considering building a phone itself. Google would have more control over the Nexus line if it began building handsets.

Since the release of the first Nexus in 2010, Google has relied on the manufacturing capabilities of HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola and Huawei.

Google is also said to be talking with chip manufacturers in order to co-develop chips that'll be used in Android devices.
