ZTE has announced a first sub-$100 smartphone that features a fingerprint scanner. A new member of its Blade family called Blade A1 has been announced during an event in China. The smartphone will go on sale on December 11 for CNY 599, around $90 or €85.

Looking at it, you can see similarities with the iPhone 5C and its glossy plastic design. Five different color options will be available, including Smart White, Vibrant Yellow, Dream Green, Cool Blue, and Space Grey. It is expected to reach other regions in the near future.
