Recently, Toshiba has sold its image sensor business to Sony. To recoup losses from sales of notebooks, Toshiba is now rumoured to considering pulling out of the business. Another reason for the current situation in Toshiba is the accounting fraud that happened back in July.
However, the company could join forces with a few other companies, including Fujitsu and Vaio, which was sold by Sony back in 2014. If the deal happens, Vaio would be the only remaining company, and all operations will be under the Vaio name. The merger would also make Vaio the biggest player on Japanese PC market, controlling around 30 percent. |
