HTC and Huawei both are expected to launch their respective new smartphones in the first quarter of 2016, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

HTC is likely to release its new model, the HTC One X9, in the second half of February 2016. The One X9 will feature a 5.5-inch display, MediaTek CPU and a 13-megapixel camera, EDN said.

The HTC One X9, which will come with optical image stabilization (OIS) capability, will target the NT$12,000-15,000 (US$365-457) segment in Taiwan's smartphone market, said the paper.

Meanwhile, Huawei's new flagship model, the Huawei P9, is expected to come in March. The new device is likely to be available in two variants, the P9 and P9 Max. The P9 will feature a 5.2-inch 2K display, while the P9 Max will sport a 6.2-inch display, said the paper.
