Huawei has recently unveiled its flagship chipset, the Kirin 950. The chipset came out swinging, proving to be a real contender. The first smartphone to pack the chipset was the Mate 8 phablet, but the company has yet to announce a real flagship smartphone.

The device in question could be the rumoured Huawei D8, about which we have more information. The handset was expected to launch in 2015 according to Huawei's 2015 roadmap, but apparently it was pushed into 2016. The same report suggests that it will be powered by Kirin 960, the successor to the Kirin 950 chipset. Other specs include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 4 GB of RAM and an expected price tag somewhere around 5,000 Yuan ($780 USD).
