Taiwan-based Silicon Power Computer & Communications made its debut listing on the Taiwan emerging stock market today (January 11) with an initial price of NT$45 (US$1.54) a share.
Silicon Power also revealed plans to submit an application to list on Taiwan's over-the-counter (OTC) market in the second half of 2011.
Silicon Power manufactures and supplies NAND flash memory cards, USB drives, card readers, DRAM modules, solid-state drives (SSD) and portable hard drives. The company recently launched a SuperSpeed USB HDD with capacity up to 750GB.
Silicon Power also distributes Nanya Technology's Elixir brand products. Elixir is Nanya's retail brand focusing on DRAM modules.
Founded in 2003 with NT$454 million in capital, Silicon Power is headquartered in Taiwan with branch offices in China, India, Japan, Russia and the Netherlands. Fabless IC design firm Sitronix Technology is among its major shareholders.
