Most flagship chipsets for 2016 have been announced and the mass production of them are underway. Therefore, companies can concentrate on releasing other, as well important chipsets for various applications. At CES 2016, MediaTek has announced three new chipsets.
MediaTek MT2523, MT7697 and MT8581 are the names of new chipsets. The first chip is aimed at the growing smartwatch market, the MT7697 at IoT devices for better integration and cloud connectivity and the MT8581 multimedia SoC for Ultra High Definition (4K) Blu-ray players. The first two chips will be available for OEMs in the first half of 2016, while the MT8581 will be available in the second half of 2016.

Dual-band WiFi version of the chipset, MT7697D, offers 2.4GHz and 5GHz support.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) provides the highest integration among comparable SoCs, combining and optimizing DB WiFi, BLE, CM4 and RAM
Embeds a power amplifier with TX Power up to 10 decibel-milliwatts (dBm).
