ODM Quanta Computer shipped four million notebooks in December, increasing 5.3% on month, while fellow maker Compal Electronics shipped 3.7 million units, growing 12.1%, according to the companies.

Inventec shipped 1.85 million notebooks, AIO (all-in-one) and thin client PCs in December, rising 2.8% on month.

The December shipment growth was driven by notebook vendors replenishing inventories, but demand in the end market remained sluggish, the companies noted, adding shipments in first-quarter 2016 are expected to decrease sequentially.

Quanta has reported consolidated revenues of NT$97.389 billion (US$2.96 billion) for December, increasing 10.76% on month and 9.62% on year. Consolidated revenues for fourth-quarter 2015 reached NT$275.175 billion, slipping 0.26% sequentially but rising 9.35% on year. For 2015, Quanta's consolidated revenues totaled NT$1.007 trillion, growing 8.74% on year.
