China-based Xiaomi has announced its Hongmi 3 smartphone, priced at CNY699 (US$106) and is marketing the product by mainly pushing its long battery life.

The smartphone is equipped with a 4,100mAh battery, a 5-inch 1,280 by 720 display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 616 eight-core processor, 5-megapixel front-end and 13-megapixel back-end cameras. The smartphone features 2GB of storage, but supports microSD card up to 128GB capacity.

The Hongmi 3 adopts a metal chassis and will be available on January 12 via online shops and retail channels.
