Foxconn Electronics is currently ramping up production of Xiaomi's Mi 5 smartphones as the China-based vendor is likely to launch the new model around February 20, according to media reports in China.

Foxconn is currently rolling out the Mi 5 with overtime and extended work shifts to ensure availability of the new phones at the time of release, said the report.

Xiaomi has recently shifted its marketing strategy to supply as many units as it can at launch, instead of its previous hunger marketing practice, indicated the report.
