Back in April 2015, we first heard that Samsung might become Qualcomm's foundry of choice for manufacturing the flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC. What has been only rumours now is confirmed by Samsung, who also confirmed that it has started mass production the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 SoC.
The company announced today that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC will use Samsung's 2nd generation 14nm LPP FinFET process, which allegedly improves processor speed by up to 15 percent, and reduce power use by the same amount over the previous 14nm LPE process.
