The sale of some Samsung smartphones has been banned by a US court. Apple had requested the sale of the phones no longer be allowed due to confirmed patent infringement. This ban will go into effect in the next 30 days and it applies to Samsung's Admire, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy S III and Stratosphere devices.
Previously, this case resulted in a ruling that saw Samsung pay Apple $119.6 million in damages. There are three patents covering things like automatic word connection and slide-to-unlock that were infringed upon by Samsung.
Since these phones are no longer sold by Samsung, the ruling has little impact on the company. |
