MediaTek is a well-known chipset manufacturer and since last year, the company has decided to step up and compete in a high-end segment. After releasing the Helio X10 and X20, which has yet to launch, the company has now switched its focus onto the entry-level segment.

As LTE has become standard, MediaTek has plans to support it in entry-level devices, bringing more sales to the company. Three new chipsets will go into production after the Chinese New Year, so the first affordable LTE phones will be available in summer 2016.

Dubbed the MT6739, MT6750 and MT6750, the chipsets will be powering phones priced at $50 and up. They also support a nice range of hardware, so we can expect some great entry-level phones.
