The first time we heard about the Exynos 7870 chipset was when the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphone was spotted on GFXBench. Today, the company has decided to officially announce it, expanding its system-on-a-chip lineup to new mid-range smartphones.
Not many details were revealed, except it uses the company's most advanced 14nm FinFET process and has been designed primarily for mid-range mobile devices. From previous leaks, we know it features a 1.7 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and a Mali-T830 GPU, and is probably meant to be a successor to the Exynos 7580. |
