Huawei's Surface competitor, the MateBook, has launched and it is going to be sold for $699+. The tablet runs Windows 10 and it can be used with a $129 keyboard case. An optional pressure-sensitive stylus is also going to be available for $69.

The MateBook's $699 configuration has an M3 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB SSD. It only weighs 640 grams and it has a 12-inch 2160 x 1440 display. Huawei says its 33.7 Wh battery offers 10 hours of regular use and charging will occur over a USB-C cable. Thanks to its fast charging ability, the MateBook can reach 60% in two hours.

Huawei's keyboard for the unit is backlit and it will be available in black, brown, orange, or beige. It is powered by the tablet.

Sales are set to begin in Asia, Europe, and North America in the coming month.
