LG has announced its G5 smartphone at MWC 2016 and one of the core parts of the phone is its modular design. The 5.3-inch handset has a bottom piece that can separate from the rest of the phone, providing an attachment point for modules. LG has introduced two modules:

The CAM Plus accessory is a 1200 mAh battery pack and a camera grip which offers manual camera controls.

The HiFi Plus is a portable DAC that supports 32-bit 384 KHz audio playback.

LG's G5 has a quad HD display, an all-metal design, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 2800 mAh battery. Two cameras, a 16 MP and an 8 MP, are found on the rear of the phone.

The phone also comes with a removable battery and microSD storage support.

LG has yet to announce when the phone will be available or how much it will retail for.
