Taiwan's Gudeng Precision Industrial, a semiconductor front-end equipment manufacturer mainly specializing in mask solution products, has been involved in the industry's efforts in developing 450mm (18-inch) factory integration guidelines and standards, according to company chairman Bill Chiu. Chiu forecast Gudeng will see a revenue growth of 15-20% in 2010.
Gudeng's major customers include wafer foundries Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), and DRAM chipmakers including Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), Chiu indicated. Chiu said the company has settled its orders for 2010.
Gudeng is also looking to offer solutions for wafer production used in LED and solar applications next year, according to Chiu, adding that it will initially set up service support centers in China and the US.
Gudeng posted revenues of NT$378 million (US$11.7 million) for the first 11 months of 2009, outpacing the full-year 2008 level of NT$360 million.
Founded in 1988 with NT$280 million in capital, Gudeng began trading on Taiwan's emerging stock market on October 16, 2009. The fab tool supplier said it plans to send in its request to join the over-the-counter (OTC) stock market in June 2010.
