To stay in the race against the best chipset manufacturers, MediaTek plans to release an improved version of its flagship Helio X20 chipset. The company's next high-end chipset is going to be the Helio X25, which will be only an improved version of the Helio X20 chipset.
Instead of making drastic changes, MediaTek will only optimize the current offer. Therefore, the Helio X25 will be running at a higher frequency. The official specs are not yet available, but the SoC will be also known as the MT6797T. The two Cortex-A72 cores will probably be clocked only slightly higher, but the four Cortex-A53 could be running at much higher speeds. Here is the current Helio X20 processor configuration:
2 x Cortex-A72 cores running at 2.5 GHz
4 x Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.0 GHz
4 x Cortex-A35 cores running at 1.4 GHz |
