As a part of "Make in India" initiative and a bid to expand its hold in the Indian market even further, Xiaomi plans to set up two new manufacturing plants in India to manufacture handsets, peripherals and components, according to company co-founder and president Lin Bin.
He says that they expect to sell around 140 million devices in 2016, which is 40 million more than last year. They hope to get all the documents and get at least one facility running by the end of the year.
The Mi 5 is coming to India, while one new device will be launched in the next quarter with another one in second half of 2016. |
