Hybrid laptop-tablet devices will control a significant part of the overall European PC market by 2020. In the coming four years, their market share will grow to 20%, according to research from IDC's Western Europe Quarterly Tablet Tracker. That'll be up from a 5% share last year.

The cost of 2-in-1 hybrids will continue to decline as more competitors enter the market and that'll make them even more attractive for consumers.

IDC's research shows the rise of 2-in-1s is part of a general rise in more portable PCs, as ultra-slim laptops are also seeing their market share increase.
