China-based smartphone vendors Oppo and Vivo have managed to continue ramping their shipments to the domestic and overseas markets, which will assure steady orders for makers in the related supply chain, according to industry sources.
Oppo and Vivo shipped 10.1 million and 10.5 million smartphones, respectively, in the fourth quarter of 2015, reaching the benchmark of shipping over 10 million units in a quarter.
The increasing shipment volumes and focus on mid-range to high-end models have attracted makers in the supply chain to gear up efforts to further cement their business ties with the two vendors, indicated the sources.
Oppo and Vivo combined are expected to ship to a total of 120 million smartphones in 2016, the sources estimated. |
