Although unofficial, we have first details on the new Helio X30 chipset, which is expected to launch sometime in 2017. With Helio X25 almost official, MediaTek's next-gen premium SoC is going to be Helio X30, which will continue to utilize a tri-cluster deca-core processor.

Unlike Helio X20, which has 2x Cortex-A72 @ 2.5 GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.0 GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 @ 1.4 GHz, the Helio X30 is rumored to arrive with 2x Artemis cores at 2.8 GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 at 2.2 GHz, and 4x Cortex-A35 at 2.0 GHz. The CPU should be paired with more powerful 4-core PowerVR 7XT GPU and support 26MP snappers, dual camera setups, VR connections, and LTE Cat.13.

The Artemis core is a successor to the Cortex-A72, while the Cortex-A35 are extremely power efficient and offer up to 40% faster performance its predecessor Cortex-A7. All of that will be manufactured using TSMC's 10nm FinFET process.
