Having declined for the past four months, DRAM contract prices moved to stabilize in February 2011.
Average contract prices for 2GB and 4GB DDR3 modules stayed unchanged at US$16.50 and US$32, respectively, in the first half of February 2011. Meanwhile, prices in the low range showed over 3% growth compared to the levels in the second half of January.
Early February quotes for 2GB DDR3 modules in the low range grew to US$16 from US$15.50 previously. For 4GB parts, quotes arrived at US$31 in the low range, up US$1.
At the spot market, however, prices for mainstream DDR3 chips have trended downwards after the Lunar New Year ended. The average price of 1Gb and 2Gb chips fell slightly to US$2.25 and US$1.16, respectively, during the afternoon trading session of February 15.
