BlackBerry is still struggling in mobile business, despite having successful release of the first Android smartphone. To stabilize its business, the company needs new, innovative products, and according to latest rumours, BlackBerry will release two new smartphones in 2016.
Unlike BlackBerry Priv, which was a high-end phone, the two new phones will target mid-range market. The company's CEO also added that they will be priced around $300-400, but there are no plans for the low-end market. The whole interview is available here and here.
The smartphones in question are rumored to be codenamed Hamburg (without physical keyboard) and Rome (with a physical keyboard and a touchscreen) and are expected to launch in autumn and the end of 2016, respectively. |
