Taiwan-based DRAM chipmakers Nanya Technology and Inotera Memories have reported mixed revenue results for March 2016.
Nanya posted consolidated revenues of NT$3.3 billion (US$101.9 million) for March 2016, down 1.2% sequentially and 19.1% on year, while Inotera estimated revenues increased 12.5% on month and 0.9% from a year ago to NT$3.84 billion.
Nanya's cumulative 2016 revenues through March totaled about NT$10.4 billion, falling 13.6% from a year earlier, while Inotera's declined 39.7% on year to NT$10.94 billion.
Nanya said previously that the company's bit shipments would stay flat sequentially in the first quarter of 2016. Nanya generated revenues of NT$10.35 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015, up 0.1% sequentially.
Inotera saw its revenues decrease 20% sequentially to NT$11.57 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015, due mainly to falling DRAM ASPs. Inotera estimated previously its bit shipments would increase by a double-digit percentage sequentially in the first quarter of 2016. |
