Here it is, the flagship HTC 10 smartphone. After months of rumours, teaser campaign and other leaks, the company has finally unveiled its flagship handset that will compete against Samsung Galaxy S7, Apple iPhone 6S, LG G5, Xiaomi Mi 5 and other high-end smartphones.
Let's start with the design. HTC could have done a better job regarding the look of HTC 10, since the phone isn't much different than other One handsets. It features solid aluminum body with a clean look, chamfered edges on the back and the black strip with the HTC logo. It houses a 5.2-inch display that has a Quad HD resolution (1,440 x 2,560) and Super LCD 5 panel. The Super LCD does not have an air gap between the outer glass and the display element, so users will have a better image, lower power consumption and improved outdoor visibility. There is a physical home button that comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Inside the phone is a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. That should be enough to hold on with the top flagship phones and depending on software optimization, it might end up as the fastest.
The camera department includes a 12-megapixel UltraPixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), laser autofocus and a dual tone LED flash. The front-facing camera has a 5-megapixel sensor with OIS as well.
On the software side, there is an all new Sense 8.0 user interface that is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The company says the phone runs fast and smoothly, and that the software has very small impact on battery, resulting in a long battery life. Apparently the HTC 10 can run for 2 days on a single charge. It also comes with Quick Charge 3.0, which is supported by the Qualcomm chipset, so the phone can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes.
Other important specs include a USB Type-C 3.1 port, as well as all new BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition speakers.
As for the pricing and availability, HTC 10 will be available in Gold, Silver, and Black color options. It is priced at $799/€699 and is now available for pre-order.
