Multiple earthquakes have hit Japan and they're impacting Sony's ability to produce items in the country. The company is going without its normal production capacity for at least a few days following two significant earthquakes that hit Japan in the past couple days.

At the very least, Sony has paused work on camera sensors in Kumamoto and Nagasaki because of potential damage in those areas. It'll update the public on April 18 and it's possible there could be extended outages.

If production is pushed back further, the mobile phone industry could be negatively affected due to Sony's role as a major supplier.

Along with Sony, car companies like Honda, Toyota, and Nissan have also been affected by the earthquakes.
