There are only a few manufacturers that have a luxury of using its own chipsets and other components. Samsung uses its own chipsets, cameras and memory chips, Apple and Huawei only CPUs, and now Xiaomi is rumoured to enter the business with its own chipset.

Dubbed the Xiaomi Rifle, the chipset is expected to make an appearance in May and will target only entry-level smartphones. It will use ARM CPU design and at first will be used in smartphones, but in the future, smartwatches, TV's and other equipment will carry Xiaomi's SoC.
