Inventec has succeeded in reducing its reliance on PC product lines, with the revenue proportion dropping to below 50%, the company said at a May 10 investors conference.
Notebooks, desktops and servers together accounted for 83.1% of consolidated revenues of NT$95.364 billion (US$2.94 billion) for the first quarter of 2016, smartphones and hand-held mobile devices for 12.4% and crystalline silicon solar cells and PV modules for 4.5%, Inventec said. Gross margin for first-quarter 2016 was 5.92%, net operating profit NT$1.865 billion, net profit NT$1.365 billion and net EPS NT$0.34.
Inventec's ODM sever clients include Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Dell and Lenovo. Meanwhile, demand from direct shipment dater center clients is expected to grow fast, especially from China-based search engine Baidu, e-commerce operator Alibaba and web portal Tencent, Inventec indicated.
Inventec Appliances, Inventec's mobile device ODM subsidiary, aims to ship 75 million hand-held devices in 2016, including 20-30 million smartphones. |
