Windows Phone's share in the phone operating system market has dropped again and now sits at less than 1%. A report from Gartner says an estimated 2.4 million Windows Phones were sold in the last quarter, which comes out to 0.7% of the market. Just one year prior, the OS had a 2.5% share.

The decrease in Windows Phone's share can be tied primarily to inactivity in Microsoft's Lumia business. During the quarter, 2.3 million Lumia devices were sold, compared to 8.6 million in Q1 2015. That sales figure also shows nearly all Windows Phone sales are for Lumia products, a line Microsoft may even discontinue.
