HTC expects its sales performance in the Taiwan market in the second quarter of 2016 to be better than that a quarter earlier due to strong sales of its flagship model the HTC 10, according to Jack Tong, president of HTC North Asia.
To cash in on rising demand for the HTC 10, HTC, has added a camellia red version in the local market. The 32GB version is available for NT$22,900 (US$710) unlocked and the 64GB version for NT$24,900.
With the new offering and the promotion of 3-carrier aggregation (3CA)-enabled smartphones by local carriers, HTC expects sales of its mid-range and high-end smartphones to remain brisk in the second half of 2016, Tong said.
Sales of the camellia red HTC 10 in Japan have been particularly strong since the launch on June 12, accounting for 44% of 10-series sold in the market, Tong revealed.
