Sony's smartphone division could face the same destiny as HTC, as the company is obviously struggling lately. Another confirmation of that is the latest decision to end manufacturing deals with Foxconn and Arima in Brazil after the country's government ended tax exemption.

A year ago, the company has announced a multimillion dollar plan to expand in the Brazilian market, but with the current situation, that might end before it even started. Sony isn't the only one that decided to downsize operations in Brazil as Xiaomi has also recently ended its manufacturing deal with Foxconn.
