Some markets are more popular than others and there are various reasons behind that. As for Sony, the company has said that its regional sales performance and forecasts all leading up to a decision to defocus on markets such as Brazil, China, India and the US.

The company will still sell smartphones in these countries, but will shift its focus towards East Asia, Middle East and Europe. The analysis also mentions that Sony wants to improve on the more premium segment, past the $300 mark. Hopefully Sony will figure out what it takes to stay at the top.
